Friedel Dzubas Paintings

Friedel Dzubas (1915-1994) was a German-born American painter who moved to the United States in 1939 after fleeing from Nazi Germany. He found a new life for himself in New York and began his career as an abstract painter. In the 1950s, Dzubas shared a studio with fellow abstract artist, Helen Frankenthaler, it was during this time that his popularity began to rise. He is associated with Color Field painting and Lyrical Abstraction. Dzubas had a very successful career and held numerous solo exhibitions around the world during his life time.
