The Parnassus is located at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. The Parnassus is a fresco painting by the Italian Renaissance artist, Raphael. It was executed in 1511 after the creation of his other masterpieces, La Disputa and the School of Athens. The fresco was used to decorate Stanze di Rafaello in the Vatican.

The Parnassus depicts Apollo and Calliope, the muse of epic poetry, together with the nine muses, the nine poets from antiquity and the nine contemporary poets. The fresco represents poetry during the Renaissance period. The two muses in the fresco resemble that of Michaelangelo’s Creation of Adam, Euterpe and Sappho.
