					<description><![CDATA[Please... I implore you. Change the date from 1949 to &#039;present&#039;. The Republic of China is still alive and has already passed its centennial celebrations.

The KMT traded land for time, doing a war of attrition on the Japanese. In the end, they were able to push the Japanese back and stalemate them, draining the Japanese of the much-need resources required to fight the Americans on the Pacific Front. The CCP launched guerrilla attacks on the Japanese since they were unable to form large standing armies. 

And also. The CCP seized all the leftover munitions and weapons left by the Japanese when they surrendered. The Russians had &#039;claimed&#039; the land and used to guise of &#039;reorganization&#039; for the CCP to gather and salvage everything they could. The numerous spies CCP had in the KMT. Also how the CCP was pushed out into the countryside where they were able to convert the mass majority of the people to their ideals. I&#039;m pretty sure that also led to the ROC&#039;s defeat.]]></description>
