In reply to JOHN FLYNN. It would be hard to tell age just by the picture. The back of the painting looks pretty clean, so I wouldn't imagine it would be very old. So, it probably is worth very little, if anything at all.

In reply to JOHN FLYNN. A fake is meant to look as real as possible. It is doubtful this is a real Van Gogh. It seems all the paintings from the Sunflowers series are accounted for.

I am watching a Sunflower painting in a local auction,it is not a print and looks very much like the originals,it is dated 1888.
Does anyone know the value and was it common for artist to make copies of these paintings?

Well Amy I saw ‘Sunflowers’ in the National Gallery London in 1977, when I was 19. It really is quite the most incredible piece of art. Perhaps you are unable to appreciate it. I suspect your talents lie in a different direction, well there’s nothing wrong with that, we are not all the same. What’s your passion?
