Piero della Francesca Paintings

Piero della Francesca (c. 1415 – October 12, 1492) was an Early Renaissance painter who was born in Borgo Sansepolcro, in Tuscany. He was also known by his contemporaries as a mathematical theorist and geometer. Francesca’s mathematic background is apparent in all of is work, especially within his carefully planned geometric forms and use of perspective. His most famous work is the Legend of the True Cross in the Church of San Francesco, in the Tuscan town of Arezzo.
