Peter Doig Paintings

Peter Doig is a contemporary painter who was born in Scotland in 1959. When he was a child, his family moved to Trinidad and then to Canada a few years later while following his father’s work. These places that Doig lived in during his youth have inspired many of his landscape paintings. He is well known for both his figurative paintings and landscape paintings. His White Canoe painting sold at Setheby’s for $11.3 million in 2007, which was the record for a living European artist of that time. Doig currently lives in Trinidad and his works are displayed in collections around the world.
