Paintings by Wayne Thiebaud

Wayne Thiebaud (born November 15, 1920) is a California-based artist who is famous for his vivid still life paintings of pastries, sweets, and other common objects. Thiebaud is known for his very distinct pop art style, which pushes the use of exagerated colors, most notably within his shadows. At the start of his career, Thiebaud was a commercial artist, however he later found his true calling as a fine artist, exploring his own visions through his multiple still life and landscape paintings. He was awarded the National Medal of Arts in the year 1994.
