Michelangelo Buonarroti was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese, Tuscany, Italy. He is commonly known as just Michelangelo. Michelangelo was an Italian Renaissance architect, painter, sculptor, poet, and engineer whose influence was extensive. He was skilled in all of his disciplines and is often considered an archetypal Renaissance man, alongside Leonardo da Vinci.
