Max Ernst Paintings

Max Ernst (1891-1976) was a German artist who made significant contributions to the Dada and Surrealist art movements. He was heavily influenced by Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and Paul Gauguin. Ernst developed his own unique art techniques focusing on collage, frottage, and grattage. He gained popularity in Germany, France, and the United States and influenced many American Abstract Expressionists such as Jackson Pollock.
