In reply to riztys. What rules are these? That Americans are so likely to be offended or surprised by a few body parts that they must be covered? You'll be putting trousers on chicken bottoms soon. And this from a country that produces and consumes more pictures of naked women than the rest of the world combined. Americans are so strange.

This kind of art censorship panders to the most ignorant impulses of society. What you have done is taken one of the most important pieces of European art and turned it into something to be giggled over by puerile pre-pubescent boys. The least you could do is have the decency to delete the image instead of displaying it in such a vandalised manner.

the women is naked for a reason this is a painting , everyone has seen the female anatomy so remove the black squares. in italy its all over the place , here in america we are so shocked ” uhhh a breast” give me a break.

The most offensive thing I find about your printing of “The Naked Maja” are the black squares pasted over the Maja’s female parts. You have turned a masterpiece into a tawdry work of pornography. Francisco Goya broke the conventions of his time and is considered the first of the modern artists. His courageous work is appreciated by those of an enlightened age. You have sent us back a few hundred years. Shame on you.
