Another artwork of the Italian painter Raphael is the La Donna Gravida which means pregnant woman in Italian. It was an oil on panel portrait that was painted between 1505 and 1506. It portrays a pregnant woman who is sitting. However, the identity of the woman in the portrait is uncertain. It was believed that she is a member of Bufalini family of Citta di Castello . There are other beliefs that she is Emilia Pia da Montefeltro because the portrait has similarities to the portrait of Emilia Pia Montefeltro which is now housed in Baltimore Museunm of Arts.
It was introduced for the first time in an 18th century inventory of Palazzo Pitti. It has been referred to as an artwork of an unknown writer. It was in 1839 when it was first attributed to Raphael. The Palazzo Pitti in Florence houses the painting in the current time.
