I just spent an hour with this painting!! She is in New York at the Frick. Thrilling. Wanted to see it my whole life. My poster at home is from prior to the 1994 restoration so her face looked all crckledc, but not in person. She is so beautiful and beguiling.
I don’t think her name was always The Girl With the Pearl Earring- that’s a result of the book and Hollywood.
