The great Italian artist Raphael painted the artwork Esterhazy Madonna. The medium he used was oil on canvas. It was completed in 1508 and measures twenty nine centimetres long by twenty one and a half centimetres wide. Currently, it is displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary. Unfortunately in 1983, this painting was stolen along with others by other prominent painters. The art pieces however were recovered in a worn out Greek convent. The painting is another one of Raphael’s representation of Christianity. The flat hues of the figures as well as the architectural structure in the background add to its dated look and theme.
