Thank you to John Partin / Jnanagamya who wrote a beautiful comment regarding Dwight D. Eisenhower who was the most human and caring of all the U. S. presidents of my lifespan which currently is 70 years. Too bad we can't have another like him. He was a great man who was down to earth and just an ordinary decent human being in spite of all his great achievements.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was promoted to General of the Army in December 1944. In May 1645, he was appointed Military Governor of the US Occupied Zone when Germany surrendered. He began to earn the respect, affection and admiration of the international community. In June 1945, Eisenhower was accorded a hero’s welcome when he returned to Abilene, Kansas.
Really 1645, or 1945

General and President Eisenhower was much admired by his soldier and the citizen countrymen.
I was between 5 years and 13 years old during his presidential terms My parents were soldiers in Europe during WWII and they appreciated his leadership there and again as president.
Eisenhower has been called the most successful man of the 20th Century leading an army across Europe to defeat the most modern and ruthless military ever seen in history. Rising to elected leadership of the world's first Super power at the height of it's power and prestige.
He was the son of pacifists. His comments on the military Industrial complex have proven his correct foresight into the mire of a constant war economy that has become the Achilles heal of America.
