1895Einstein attempts to skip the entrance exam for the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich, but fails.
  
1896Einstein is admitted to the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich.
  
1900Einstein graduates from the Swiss Federal Polytechnic with a degree in physics.
  
1901Einstein becomes a Swiss citizen.
  
1902Einstein takes a job as a technical assistant in the Swiss Patent Office.
  
1905

Mar. Einstein publishes four groundbreaking papers on the photoelectric effect, Brownian motion, special relativity, and mass-energy equivalence.
