The Bus is an oil on canvas painting by Frida Kahlo. This painting dates back to the year 1929 and it measures 10 by 22 inches. This painting is quite colorful and one can see a number of people sitting down next to each other on a bench. There is a woman holding a shopping basket, a man who seems to be in his blue work overalls, a mother breastfeeding her baby, a little boy looking around and a business-like man holding a bag of money in his hand. The last person is a young lady, which many people think that represented Frida herself as there is some semblance with the painter in reality.
Important Information
Frida Kahlo was actually involved in a bus accident in 1925, where she was seriously injured, and many think that some characteristics in this painting refer to this difficult episode in her life.
