Tiziano Vecellio or Tiziano Vecelli (c. 1488/1490 – August 27, 1576), known famously as Titian, was an Italian painter, the most prominent member of the 16th-century Venetian school. Titian was one of the most versatile of Italian painters, equally adept with mythological and religious subjects, landscape backgrounds, and portraits.
